Hi! I'm Yuko!
My photography is created with all the NYC families and couples whom I had the privilege to meet. My family have relocated to this chaotic yet beautiful, vibrant city in 2018, and it has forever transformed the way I live. My childhood dream of becoming a photographer has come true in this city filled with artists when I started photographing my friends' families! I feel so lucky to document the love in the diverse lives of New Yorkers.

I am an extreme empath and I believe that makes me a great photographer for you. It enables me to seize every little emotions that I see through my lens, and express them in the canvas of photographs. I feel passionate about capturing the fleeting moments in our lives, freezing them in photographs and make them last forever. And I am eternally and constantly curious to learn what makes each family and couple who they are and how they are to each other. I'm thankful to deliver your photographs that help you remember your feelings. And that is why I enjoy photographing your weddings and families because I am passionate about capturing those special feelings for your loved ones!
Aside from my regular family & wedding sessions, I strive to dedicate my ability as a photographer to ALL people. I want to be accessible and be inclusive for anyone who needs my photography services, especially for the empowerment of women of color and for folks in LGBTQAI+ community. I feel blessed to offer my talent and time for individuals, entrepreneurs and artists in need of photography to grow their businesses and community services. When I am not behind my camera, I'm a homeschooling parent for my two little kids. I enjoy everything that New York City offers with them from museums to Broadway shows, but love our quiet life in Uptown Manhattan. When we are not here, we are enjoying our time in Japan where I grew up.
Little facts about me...

I went to a small liberal arts college in Maryland and studied abroad in Hong Kong and China. My absolute favorite food is dim sum and sushi!

I bought my first DSLR camera with my very first salary after college! I used to be a fashion item merchandiser for a big retail chain in Japan.

But I never thought I can make photography my job... until I became a mom and left my full-time job. After the pandemic, I started capturing my friends' families and found how much I love documenting real life.

I'm a big fan of live music, especially jazz but old school boybands from 2000's always "tearing up my heart" :)

Professional photoshoots I have had for myself were for my wedding, my births (first baby in water and second at home!) and annual family holiday card session.
